A look back: The flexibility of "Pick and choose"
Last year, we introduced a revolutionary pricing structure centered on usage-based pricing (UBP) and a "pick and choose" model for our Pro plan. This allowed you to select the specific components you needed and only pay for what you used, along with what we called monthly engaged users (MEUs) to track user activity.
The learning curve: Flexibility vs. Simplicity
While this model offered unparalleled flexibility, we realized it also introduced some complexity. Here's what we learned:
- The "All-In" Approach: Most customers wanted access to all of our powerful Pro features, not just a few.
- Industry Standards: MEUs were a unique approach, but they made it harder to compare our offering to other platforms that use monthly active users (MAUs).
The new weave: What's changing
To simplify your experience and align with industry norms, we're making a few key changes:
- Pro = All Access: The Pro plan now includes all of our components, so you can weave to your heart's content.
- MAUs are here: We've shifted to MAUs for billing, making it easier to understand your usage and compare us to other providers.
- Still the best value (UBP): Even with these changes, we're proud to offer some of the most competitive unit pricing in the market, combined with the flexibility of UBP – no contracts required!
Grandfathered in: If you're already a Pro customer, nothing changes for you! You'll continue to enjoy your current pricing and structure.
Why this change?
Our mission hasn't wavered. We're still dead set on:
- Easy-to-use components: From DIY creators to full-stack developers, we want everyone to build amazing things, whether they're using low-code platforms or pushing the boundaries of edge technology.
- Easy to go Pro: Our Pro plan should be a no-brainer, offering incredible value that you can clearly see and feel.
- Transparency: We believe in clear, straightforward pricing that reflects your actual usage.
